From
1986 to 1997, EGA served as director of design for Galveston
Island's legendary pre-lenten carnival celebrations. At the
request of George Mitchell and Dancie Ware, each year EGA
designed and coordinated street decorations, exhibits and
festival activities including showering clouds of confetti
on Strand revelers with the now famous "EGA Confetti
Canon", as well as transforming the Tremont House Hotel
into a fantasy representation of the annual festival theme
(...from the Parthenon to a pagoda!!!). A centerpiece of the
two week celebration is the EGA designed Saengerfest Park.
