Galveston Bay Club

The Road Less Traveled, Galveston Island, Texas

This unique development of 20 home sites promises to be one of the most exclusive new waterfront neighborhoods on the West End of Galveston Island. The project master plan is based on a collection of memories from time-tested coastal neighborhoods that dot the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts. The homes will be reminiscent of old-fashioned family compounds and fishing camps.

The secluded Bay Club site, which fronts Eckert Bayou in Galveston's West Bay, is covered with native groves of live oaks and coastal grasses. The developers visualize a place where folks can step back in time and enjoy good friends, fish for speckled trout from piers and catch blue crabs on a hand line. Their thoughts are of lazy days on the bay with clean sea breezes and only the sounds of shorebirds and fish jumping to interrupt the reverie. After years of searching, the site was found and this planned development is well underway. The gated project features a site with natural landscaping, mature live oaks and salt cedars where custom homes are designed using architectural guidelines and materials reminiscent of coastal "fishing camps." Raised boardwalks and shared fishing piers will follow the natural waterfront, connecting the homes with a clubhouse lodge equipped with guestrooms and facilities for family gatherings and special events. The roads will be old-fashioned gravel, common areas will feature recreational facilities including a swimming pool, horse shoes, ping pong, billiards, tree house, BBQ area, walking paths, private boat launch and a "camp concierge/property manager" offering a wide array of special services. The Galveston Bay Club offers bird watching in its natural habitat and a spectacular view of the setting sun across the West Bay.
